Tribord Easybreath Full Face Snorkel Compared To Seaview 180 Mask

At first glance, the Tribord Easybreath full face snorkel mask looks very similar to the Seaview 180. It has the same style and has comparable colors offered by the manufacturer. The dry snorkel may look slightly different and often comes with a black snorkel top, unlike the Tribord’s bright orange fluorescent safety top. But at a closer look, the Tribord and the Seaview 180 have two big differences.

The first difference is the Seaview 180 has a GoPro camera mount on the top of the mask. This, of course, would only be a concern if you own a GoPro and want to use it underwater, then the Seaview 180 is a must. However, if you do not, this will not be a concern. The other difference is the full face lens. The Tribord has a flat front, so you do not get distortions on the sides of the lens like you do with the rounded lens of the Seaview 180.

Go Pro Mount

So as we talked about, the GoPro mount is on the Seaview 180 and not on the Tribord Easybreath. If this makes you lean more toward getting the Seaview 180, a release earlier this year had GoPro stating that they may be changing up the mount for the cameras. So if you have a waterproof GoPro now or are thinking about getting one, then we recommend you take that into consideration as far as a purchase of the Seaview 180 just for the mount attached.

Sizes Compared

Last year, Tribord made a manufacturing change to the sizes of their masks. In an ongoing effort to make snorkeling affordable for everyone, everywhere, they no longer make the extra small size but now offer only two different sizes, but at a more affordable purchase price. Did this compromise the comfort or fit of their masks? No, not in the slightest.

Going back to the drawing board, Tribord made the two sizes they now offer fit better and have a larger group of faces that the mask can comfortably fit. Their innovative silicone skirt that keeps the mask fitting well and the water out was just tweaked a bit and will offer a much better fit on more types of faces. Even those with beards have said that the mask fits better than other full face mask and keeps for of the water out because of the design.

No Fogging Issue With The Tribord Easybreath

A fogged lens is a issue for any diver or snorkeler, many DIY remedies and on the market products, are said to eliminate the fog from accumulating inside the mask. These products are needed on almost all diving and snorkeling masks, with the exception of the Tribord Easybreath.

This mask was designed to be virtually fog free. The secret is the proprietary baffles within the mask. As you breathe in and out normally, as you do on land, the dual airflow system in the mask will keep the mask fog free. This is something that other masks don’t do and should not claim to do.

How Do I Choose The Right One For Me?

So after comparing the two masks, the choice really comes down to preference. Do you own a GoPro? Do you want to use your GoPro camera underwater to video your experience? Is a GoPro in your future or will you be purchasing or receiving one in the next few months? The answer to these questions will bring you closer to your decision.

On the other hand, if a GoPro is not going to be part of your snorkeling experience then the Tribord Easybreath will be the best investment. The flat lens in the front of the mask gives more clarity and fewer distortions on the side and within the peripheral vision. The Seaview 180 has the smoothly rounded lens and has been an issue with distortions for some.

Whichever product you choose, the best buy is always online. Make sure that you order from a well known and reputable site that gladly and easily makes returns. You will enjoy either mask you choose, and either will provide an easy to use and easy to breathe technology that will make your time underwater fun and relaxing.
